In-Person Services FAQ
How do I schedule an in-person session?

On May 1st, you will be able to set up a session just like you always did - by visiting our bookings page. In the drop-down menu, just choose the selection for in-person follow up for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Please note that at this time, all intake first appointments will be done via Telehealth. If you would like to go ahead and book an in-person session before May 1st, please email us to set up your in-person session.

What should I expect at an in-person appointment? What changes should I expect?

In many regards, your appointments will look and feel the same - but there are some changes to help cut down on face-to-face time in the room as well as limiting your exposure to other patients. Here's what to expect just before and during your in-person appointment:

-
At this time, we are only accepting appointments from individuals who have received both shots for the Moderna or Pfizer or the one-time Johnson and Johnson shot, and are at least two weeks out from their final jab.
-
72 hours before your appointment, you will receive a screening questionnaire asking many of the same questions that have probably become quite commonplace in the post-COVID-19 era including if you've traveled or noticed any fever or digestive symptoms. Please answer this questionnaire candidly. You will need to answer this questionnaire at least 24 hrs before your appointment time, otherwise we will need to reschedule your appointment. If you answer yes to any of the screening questions, we will need to reschedule your appointment for either a distance session or for two weeks after your original in-person session.
-
Any late cancellations for in-person sessions (less than 24 hours in advance of your appointment) will be charged a $50 late-cancellation fee. Late cancellation fees will continue to be waived for Telehealth and other distance sessions.
-
In order to limit your contact to other patients inside the building, please text when you arrive. Someone will return your text and will be waiting to take you directly to your treatment room where your temperature and a pulse/ox reading will be taken. Please do not bring anyone else with you inside to your appointment, and please limit the items you carry inside the treatment room to your essentials.
-
You will need to wear a mask to enter the building and your mask must be kept on during the entire session. If you do not have a mask, please just let us know and we will provide one for you.
-
Everything else about your appointment will hopefully feel the same!

What Amazon Grove is doing to help keep you safer during your appointments includes:
-
Ensuring all staff are vaccinated, wearing scrubs and proper PPE (masks and gloves where appropriate)
-
Regular wipe downs of surfaces, tables, door handles, and other surfaces
-
Using air purifiers in all treatment rooms during treatments and using UV-C light between treatments
-
Closing the waiting area to limit contact and time with other patients and staff
-
Counting on patients to take care of one another in our community at Amazon Grove which includes wearing a mask, scheduling telehealth sessions when they are feeling feverish or exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms and being candid on screening form questions

I've never booked a session before. Can I schedule an in-person session?

Yes! However, your first session will be done via Telehealth. This is so that we can have an in-depth discussion about your health history and current health situation and health goals while cutting down on face-to-face time in an enclosed space.

Can I still book a distance session for any of the services at Amazon Grove?

Absolutely! Telehealth and distance sessions are here to stay. So if you are feeling like you're coming down with something, are waiting for your vaccine, or if you just prefer a distance session for whatever reason - we would love to see you from a distance!
